It is located at a magical location in the protected natural habitat of Vistonida Lake, in Porto Lagos. Visitors enter the monastery by walking on a wooden bridge. This is a sight for thousands of visitors who admire the surrounding nature. Aside from nature’s beauty, the church of Agios Nikolaos and the chapel of Padanassa (with the homonymous icon known for miracles), attract thousands of Christians every year, who come to bow in front of it and be blessed. There is a guest house and a museum with findings from Avdira and Vistonida Lake.
