The rural village of Ano Meria lies about 6 km northwest of the main town. Ano Meria is not a typical village that has a central reference point, a square, a church or a market, but is a sparsely populated area that consists of countless "kserolithies," stone walls built to support the soil, a necessary construction in order to cultivate, and dispersed "themonies", traditional cottages of residents that reveal a life closely connected with the land. In Ano Meria you will find a few rooms, traditional shops offering groceries, coffee and food, a traditional bakery, a small pastelli factory and the Folk Museum.
