Evaggelistria (Virgin Mary) is a Catholic church of Syros, built in 1829, located on an elevated level and designed by Italian standards smacking the sense of tranquility to the visitor. The marble and the blue sky prevail in its interior, while its decoration is simple with delicate colors and romantic rose knots. This church is a living proof of the co-existence of the Catholic and the Orthodox Christians on the island since the old times.
